Leith Theatre is a striking 1932 Art Deco auditorium at 28-30 Ferry Road, Leith (EH6 4AE), in north Edinburgh. After decades of dormancy it has become one of the city's most atmospheric mid-size concert spaces, hosting headline gigs during the Edinburgh International Festival and the Hidden Door festival in a hall with a capacity of around 1,500. Run by the Leith Theatre Trust, the building is undergoing a multi-million-pound restoration — backed by a £4.5m National Lottery Heritage Fund pledge and a £5m allocation from Edinburgh's new Visitor Levy — to reopen it as a permanent, year-round cultural and live-music venue.
