Dalkeith Miners Welfare Club on Woodburn Road in Dalkeith, Midlothian, is a long-standing members' social club (built 1963) that's become one of the area's busiest entertainment hubs. It runs two large function halls — the 550-capacity Main Gate and the 150-capacity Tail Gate — each with its own bar, dance floor, stage and lighting rig. The programme leans on Scotland's best tribute acts, live DJ nights, Hogmanay parties and the odd combat show, so there's nearly always something on. Despite the slug, this venue is in Dalkeith near Edinburgh, not London.
