The Red Lion is a traditional real ale and cider pub on the Market Place in Evesham that has carved out a proper reputation as a town-centre live music spot. Music runs most nights of the week: a Monday acoustic jam from 8pm, sea shanties on Wednesday afternoons from 2pm, and the Thursday open mic from 8pm, where the floor in front of the piano becomes an open stage for anyone who wants to share a few songs. Tuesdays rotate through a monthly cycle, traditional folk on the first, singer-songwriters on the second, the all-female She Sings She Writes open mic on the third and jazz on the fourth, and booked acts play Friday nights from 9pm and Sunday afternoons. The house rule is simple: every note is live, so no backing tracks.
