About Townwall Tavern
Townwall Tavern is a grassroots music venue in City Centre, Coventry with a standing capacity of approximately 50. PA system and vocal mics are provided; bring your own instruments and amps.
The Town Wall Tavern is one of the few remaining traditional locals in Coventry city centre, tucked behind the Belgrade Theatre on Bond Street (CV1 4AH) and long frequented by actors and theatre staff. After a brief closure announcement in late 2025 the pub was saved by an outpouring of community support and the landlord confirmed it would stay open. It runs a busy entertainment week: live music on Saturdays, karaoke on Fridays and a Sunday open-mic night that has become genuinely popular and is one of the most-recommended starter mics in the city. The room is small (roughly 50 capacity), with a PA and at least one vocal mic provided — best suited to solo songwriters, duos and acoustic acts. Sign-up is walk-in on the night, no advance booking.
