The Standard is an independent, lively bar in the heart of Bedford at 26-28 High Street (MK40 1SP), complete with a rooftop terrace and live music most nights. It's the long-running home of 'Bandeoke' — a live-band karaoke night that's run for around 12 years — and packs a full weekly entertainment diary: open-mic night every Tuesday, Bandeoke every Thursday, a live band all night every Friday, and a live band or DJ every Saturday. With light lunches and daily specials alongside a strong drinks selection, it's one of Bedford's busiest grassroots live-music pubs.
