The Sailmakers Arms is a dog- and family-friendly real-ale pub tucked in a secluded yard off High Street in Hull's Old Town (159 High Street, HU1 1NQ), near the Museum Quarter, in a former ships' chandlers. It serves locally sourced home-cooked British food alongside four real ales and real cider. Live music is a fixture: an open mic every Wednesday from 9pm (with live music from 8pm) and acoustic sessions on Sunday afternoons from 1pm, often spilling into the large sun-catching courtyard on summer days, with an open fire warming the winter months. A welcoming, original-and-acoustic-friendly grass-roots spot in Hull's historic quarter.
