The Bull is a long-standing live-music pub at 2-4 Crouch Street, Colchester (CO3 3ES), with a distinctive two-room set-up that makes it a fixture of the Essex gig circuit. The main room hosts live music five nights a week, Tuesday to Saturday — including a Jam Night followed by the 'BULL-IT!' acoustic open mic every Wednesday, where all performers are welcome and guest spots can be arranged in advance. Behind it sits The Soundhouse, an independent room focused on original music (open Thursday to Saturday), plus house-music DJs on Friday and Saturday nights. Strong on rock and metal, it's a genuine grassroots venue running its own busy programme.
