About Wylam Brewery
Wylam Brewery is a grassroots music venue in Exhibition Park, Newcastle upon Tyne with a standing capacity of approximately 800. Bring your own PA, mics and instruments.
Wylam Brewery occupies the Palace of Arts — the last surviving building of Newcastle's 1929 North East Exhibition — a Grade II-listed hall in Exhibition Park (Claremont Road, NE2 4PZ). Since the 30-barrel microbrewery's lovingly renovated home reopened, its cathedral-like Grand Hall has become one of Newcastle's most atmospheric mid-size live-music rooms (roughly 800 capacity), hosting touring artists from folk troubadour Bill Callahan to indie and electronic acts, alongside weddings, DJ sets and pop-up events. A separate Tap Room and kitchen runs independently Thursday-Sunday, serving cask and keg beer including the famous Jakehead IPA, with Saturday brewery tours at 11am. Note: the import mislabels the city as London — the venue is firmly in Newcastle upon Tyne.
