The Vault is an intimate live-music micro-bar in Hexham, Northumberland, set in a former medieval malting cellar beneath Haslem's of Hallgate art gallery at 22-24 Hallgate (NE46 1XD). Renovated in 2017 into a high-quality performing-arts room, it is dedicated to original music across all genres, pairing atmospheric lighting and notably good acoustics with table service and a small bar of reasonably priced local ales and wines. The programme mixes established touring names with rising stars in genuinely close-up surroundings, with friendly staff and a loyal local following. It was listed for sale in recent years but continues to trade as a live venue.
