The Strines Nightingale is an independent country freehouse and grassroots music venue at 105 Strines Road, Marpleridge, near Marple, Stockport (SK6 7GE) — not London. A proud member of the Music Venue Trust, it reopened after an extensive 2023 refurbishment and is renowned across Greater Manchester for live music, hosting jazz, folk, country and blues plus open mics, quizzes and resident and touring bands, with pianists a regular fixture on Sunday afternoons. It accommodates up to roughly 200 people and runs three beer terraces and an outdoor woodland stage that hosts secret gigs. The venue also stages Nestival, a three-day grassroots festival of original music in the woods behind the pub spanning psych, world folk, experimental, folktronica and electronica. Strines station is a 12-minute walk away.
