The Red is a coffee, music and culture bar in the village of Dyserth, North Wales (Waterfall Road, near Rhyl, Denbighshire) — set directly opposite the 70-foot Dyserth Waterfall. Bought a few years ago by Jules Peters (wife of The Alarm's Mike Peters), it has become a real community hub with a packed weekly calendar of salsa, line dancing, art classes, quizzes, music jams, DJ/vinyl sets and weekend live music. Its rock heritage runs deep: it has hosted Mike Peters' New Year residencies and a sold-out The Joy Formidable show, and is rolling out a 'Live at The Red' concert series aimed at drawing notable touring talent to the village. Open daily as a café (Fri evenings to ~11:30pm), it punches well above its size as a live-music destination.
