The Point is a multi-purpose performing arts and events venue in the heart of Sunderland city centre, on Holmeside (SR1 3HY). Beyond its grand main hall — which hosts everything from awards evenings and banquets to boxing and MMA — the venue runs the intimate Live Lounge, a dedicated live-music room that puts bands on stage every weekend and champions local and grassroots musicians. The bill leans into classic rock, blues, tribute acts and party-cover bands (recent names include Blistered Molly, Brassneck and The Fab Four Anthology), with happy-hour pints from around £2.50 during Live Lounge nights.
