The Lemon Tree is one of Aberdeen's best-loved live-music venues, tucked behind Marischal College at 5 West North Street (AB24 5AT) and run by Aberdeen Performing Arts. Formed in 1992 as the base venue for Aberdeen's Alternative Festival, it has two performance spaces — the 550-capacity Lounge and the 166-seat Studio — programming cutting-edge and up-and-coming music, theatre, comedy and dance. Its artistic programme celebrates the new, experimental and alternative, with level access from Shoe Lane and a lift to the first-floor Studio.
