The Hobbit is a Lord of the Rings-themed pub and late-night venue at 134 Bevois Valley Road in Southampton, close to the University. Originally the Portswood Hotel, it was renamed The Hobbit in 1989 and reopened in July 2021 after a £600,000 refurbishment with Star Pubs & Bars and Alternative Pubs, adding enhanced fantasy interiors. It runs split levels, two bars, a huge beer garden and Bag End Burgers, and is best known for its mainly acoustic live music alongside DJ sets and its signature pint cocktails named after Tolkien characters.
