The Glasshouse International Centre for Music (formerly Sage Gateshead) is the North East's flagship concert venue, perched on Gateshead Quays overlooking the River Tyne. Its glass-and-steel Norman Foster building houses two main auditoria of acoustic excellence - Sage One seats around 1,640, while the flexible Sage Two holds up to 600 for more intimate sets and boundary-pushing projects - alongside a 26-room music education centre, a music information resource centre, four bars, a brasserie and a cafe. Programming spans world, rock, pop, classical, acoustic, indie, country, folk, jazz, electronic and dance, and it is the home of the Royal Northern Sinfonia. The building is fully wheelchair accessible with step-free access throughout.
