The Fire Station is Sunderland's premier mid-scale live-music and performance venue, a state-of-the-art Auditorium seating 550 or holding 800 standing, alongside The Engine Room bar and bistro in a restored former fire station in the heart of the city. It stages 200+ events a year across live music, theatre, comedy and performance — including touring acts such as Celtic band Skipinnish (May 2026). Note: the imported 'London' city is wrong — the Ticketmaster listing is explicitly 'Skipinnish Sunderland', and the venue is in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear (the old firestationwaterloo.co.uk in London SE1 is a different, unrelated 'Fire Station').
