The Deco is the south coast's premier rock, metal and alternative live-music venue, at 128 Elm Grove in Southsea, Portsmouth (PO5 1LR). Recently refurbished in a facelift that took over 1,000 hours, it's open noon to midnight seven days a week, serving real ales, ciders and bar snacks alongside a packed gig calendar. It programmes a wide spread of heavy and alternative genres — recent acts include Green Gardens, Wailing Banshee, Red Rum and Glasshouse — plus themed nights, retro gaming, quizzes and live DJ sets. A cornerstone of Portsmouth's grassroots rock and metal scene.
