The Barrel House Ballroom is an independent, roughly 150-capacity live-music venue in the heart of Totnes, Devon, set in a beautifully reclaimed nineteenth-century ballroom overlooking both the High Street and Totnes Castle. By day the ground-floor Totnes Brewing Co. pours its own craft beers (set up specifically to underpin the financial viability of the room upstairs); by night the ballroom hosts a varied monthly programme of live music, cabaret, comedy and club nights with a strong focus on original songwriting. It has welcomed touring folk and acoustic names such as Reg Meuross with Phil Beer, and remains a warm, atmospheric grassroots stage for local, national and international artists.
