The 1865 is a dedicated live-music and events venue on Brunswick Square in central Southampton (SO14 3AR). It holds over 750 for standing gigs, up to 500 for club nights and around 200–300 seated for more intimate performances, making it one of the city's most flexible mid-size rooms. The programme spans live music, DJ and club nights, comedy, cabaret and jazz, with a regular flow of touring rock, indie and pop acts, tribute shows and local bands. The venue is fully equipped for hire and handles its own bookings (book@the1865.com), and has built a strong reputation as Southampton's go-to space for gigs that are bigger than a pub back room but more personal than an arena.
