SUB89 is Reading's leading underground club and live-music venue at 110–117 Friar Street, Reading town centre, Berkshire (RG1 1EP). Opened in October 2009 with a live show from Chase & Status, the ~600-capacity room covers every angle of live music, comedy and club nights — the stage has hosted Gary Numan, Babyshambles, Bad Manners, Napalm Death, Sub Focus, New Model Army, Adam Ant, Skindred and Ed Sheeran among many others. Now part of the TEG MJR venue group, it programmes up-and-coming and established touring acts as well as late club sessions. The frozen city "Reading" is correct.
