Soul Mama in Stratford is the original live-music venue and restaurant from saxophonist and broadcaster YolanDa Brown, set on the ground floor of The Gantry Hotel at 40 Celebration Avenue, two minutes from Stratford International. The room is a double-height space with floor-to-ceiling windows, a large stage and a mix of tall and restaurant-style tables framed by a rum-cocktail bar, seating around 100. It pairs casual-elegant soul food inspired by African, Caribbean and South American cooking with a programme of soul, jazz, R&B, gospel and reggae — including recurring R&B karaoke brunches and live-band events. It's the flagship of the Soul Mama pair (its sister venue is in Islington's Angel Central).
