About SJQ

SJQ is a grassroots music venue in Dalston, London with a standing capacity of approximately 100. Bring your own PA, mics and instruments.

SJQ books Jazz, Soul, Blues, Funk, Country acts. Both original music and covers are welcome. This listing is part of the London venue directory.

SJQ (formerly Servant Jazz Quarters) is an independent grassroots music venue and bar in the heart of Dalston, at 10A Bradbury Street just behind Gillett Square and a minute's walk from Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction Overground stations. Open since February 2011, it has a maximum capacity of 100 — a genuinely intimate basement room — and despite the old name it ranges well beyond jazz, hosting up-and-coming bands plus soul, blues, funk, country and jazz acts during the week and DJs at weekends. A staple of East London's grassroots circuit for original and emerging artists.
