The Sebright Arms is an East London institution: a wood-panelled Victorian boozer at 31-35 Coate Street in Bethnal Green (E2 9AG) with an intimate basement stage that has long punched above its weight. Run by the team behind Shoreditch's Old Blue Last since 2017, it's one of the capital's best small rooms — roughly 150-capacity — championing acts at the forefront of UK alternative, indie and punk, with a steady run of free-entry shows. Early-career sets by Courtney Barnett, Charli XCX and Squid have all happened on this stage. Upstairs the pub pours craft beer and Yard Sale Pizza, with karaoke, pool, quizzes and live sport rounding out the week.
