The Queen Margaret Union (QMU) is one of the University of Glasgow's two student unions and home to a legendary gig venue at 22 University Gardens, in the Hillhead area of Glasgow's West End (G12 8QN), five minutes from Hillhead Subway just off Byres Road. The main Venue space — with its iconic stage, large bar and balcony seating — has hosted Nirvana, Queen and countless touring rock, indie and alternative acts, alongside club nights, ceilidhs and conferences. A smaller room, Jim's Bar (150 standing / 80 seated), hosts more intimate events.
