Òran Mór is a landmark live-music and arts venue housed in a converted former church at the corner of Byres Road and Great Western Road in Glasgow's West End, opposite the Botanic Gardens. It combines dramatic ecclesiastical architecture — including a stunning painted ceiling by artist Alasdair Gray — with a vibrant programme of live music, comedy, theatre and club nights. The downstairs hall holds around 500 standing and the upstairs auditorium around 600; it also runs the acclaimed 'A Play, A Pie and A Pint' lunchtime theatre and is a Celtic Connections venue. Touring rock, indie, alternative and folk acts (e.g. Augustana) play here regularly.
