About Octagon

The Octagon Centre is the University of Sheffield's flagship eight-sided auditorium on the Western Bank campus, built in 1983. As well as examinations, lectures, graduation ceremonies and conferences, it is one of Sheffield's larger concert venues, hosting touring rock, indie and pop acts and club nights. The room holds up to 1,800 standing for live music or 1,230 fully seated, with around 870 square metres of clear floor area when cleared. Its central campus location and flexible flat-floor layout make it a regular stop on national tours (recent bookings include Don Broco).
