MOTH Club is a beloved independent live-music venue on Valette Street in Hackney Central, East London, set inside a former 1972 ex-servicemen's trade hall (its name comes from the Memorable Order of Tin Hats). Refurbished in 2015 by events agency LNZRT with its now-iconic glittering gold ceiling, it holds around 300 standing (150 seated) and platforms some of the city's buzziest indie, indie-rock and experimental-pop acts alongside comedy and club nights. A genuine grassroots gig room — recently saved by a community campaign — it is one of London's key small live-music spaces.
