MacArts is a community-run music, theatre, comedy and events venue in the centre of Galashiels, in the Scottish Borders. Housed in the beautifully converted former St Andrew's Arts Centre, a listed former church, it sits just a four-minute walk from the town's transport interchange. The venue is run by the Duncan MacKinnon Music and Arts Trust, a charity inspired by the Borders promoter who brought high-profile acts to the region in the 1960s. MacArts hosts touring national and international artists alongside up-and-coming local acts, plus tribute shows, comedy and community events, and was voted Best Scottish Live Venue of the Year 2025 (under-500 capacity) by the Scottish Live Music Awards. GQ also named it one of the four best small music venues in Scotland.
