The Hug and Pint is an award-winning grassroots music venue, bar and restaurant at 171 Great Western Road in Glasgow's west end, close to St George's Cross subway. Open since June 2015 and inspired by Arab Strap's 'Monday at the Hug and Pint', it serves Asian-inspired vegan small plates and craft beer upstairs while the basement room hosts live music most nights of the week. The programme has become one of Glasgow's strongest, mixing established and up-and-coming local artists with exciting international touring acts across indie, rock, folk, country and experimental sounds. The live room holds up to 120 (seated or standing) and is equipped with a stage, full PA and projector, with a sound engineer available on request. Its motto: 'The Friendliest Atmosphere in Scotland'.
