George Lawton Hall is a traditional town hall theatre on Stamford Street in Mossley, near Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester. It seats around 500 for concerts (400 cabaret-style) and is the permanent home of the Mossley Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society, while also running a steady programme of tribute shows, live music and variety nights — recent bills have included a Gary Barlow tribute, the Motown revue Made in Motor City, an Adele tribute and The Searchers and Hollies Experience. As a municipal hall with a fixed stage it provides house sound and lighting for visiting acts rather than expecting performers to bring a PA.
