Caird Hall is Dundee's principal concert and conference venue, a grand classical auditorium fronting City Square that was opened by the Prince of Wales in 1923. Designed by town architect James Thomson, it seats up to 2,300 and can be subdivided or converted to standing for everything from orchestral concerts to pop, rock and tribute shows. It remains the city's flagship room for touring artists.
