The Counting House at 40 Westgate, Wakefield occupies the former Yorkshire Penny Bank, a Victorian banking hall with high ceilings and brass fittings converted into a two-floor bar and 120-capacity gig room. Cover bands play Fridays and Saturdays, original acts midweek. Reopened in December 2018, one of the few regular live-music spots in Wakefield city centre after several nightclub closures.
