About This Open Mic
The Night
Marr's Bar is Worcester's primary independent live-music venue, and its Jam Night runs every Wednesday — doors at 7:30pm, music kicking off around 8pm — hosted by Jasper Taylor with a house band on hand. It's a proper full-backline setup: drums, amps, keys and mics are all provided, so you can just turn up and play whether you're a guitarist, bass player, keyboardist, singer or drummer (bring your own guitar and pedals if you like). Open mic acoustic acts lead into the house band and up-and-coming rock bands, and beginners are as welcome as seasoned players.
About Marr's Bar
The Marr's Bar is Worcester's premier independent live music venue, in the heart of the city centre at 12 Pierpoint Street (WR1 1TA) — a former 1958 dance studio that still has its original sprung dance floor. It runs live music seven nights a week catering for every genre, from rock, metal and indie tribute acts (recent bills include Metallica tribute Moretallica) to blues, R&B and DJ nights, plus a regular Wednesday Jam Night where local players can get up and join in. An over-18s room with a full backline and in-house sound, doors are typically from 8pm (late licence to 4am on Fri/Sat). A cornerstone of the Worcester scene and Worcester Music Festival.
