About This Open Mic
The Night
The Magic Garden on Battersea Park Road runs 'Sing For Your Supper' every Tuesday — a long-running open mic (seven years and counting) where everyone who plays gets a beer and a bite to eat, which is where the name comes from. Sign-ups open at 6:30pm and music kicks off around 7:15pm, with a friendly, mixed crowd: beginners are encouraged and experience is respected. Free to perform and free to watch, in a quirky, plant-strewn pub with a proper community feel.
About The Magic Garden
The Magic Garden is a pub and live music venue at 231 Battersea Park Road, London SW11 4LG — a self-styled 'festival in a pub' a few minutes from Battersea Park (nearest stations Battersea Park and Queenstown Road). Weekends bring high-energy live bands and top DJs spinning funk, reggae, ska and Latin, while Sundays slow down with live blues, roasts and Bloody Marys; the music policy runs from acoustic through folk and jazz to 'anything that's really good'. Its fairy-lit garden — complete with blankets and hot water bottles in winter — earned it a Time Out billing as 'one of London's best-kept secrets'. A house PA supports both originals and covers.
