The Night

The Gallimaufry is a much-loved bar and kitchen on Gloucester Road in Bishopston, and its Monday open mic is a Bristol institution — George Ezra cut his teeth here. Hosted by Luna Kali, sign-up opens at 7pm and the music kicks off at 8pm, with a free drink for everyone who plays. It's a genuinely strong starter venue with an attentive crowd and a proper stage set-up, so solo songwriters, duos and small bands all work well. Turn up, get on the list, and you're away. Find it at 26-28 The Promenade, Gloucester Road, Bristol BS7 8AL.

About The Gallimaufry

The Gallimaufry is an independent restaurant, bar, live-music venue and arts space in the heart of Gloucester Road, Bishopston, Bristol (BS7 8AL) — a genuine grassroots hub that programmes live music every night of the week, from improvised jazz and funk to acoustic sets, DJ residencies and up-and-coming Bristol bands. Its long-established open mic runs every Monday, with sign-up from 8pm and a free drink for everyone who plays — a warm, well-attended night that's a staple of the Gloucester Road circuit. The room runs on full backline (drum kit, guitar and bass amps, vocal mics) with an in-house engineer, so bands as well as solo acts and duos are welcome. Confirmed open and gigging nightly in 2026 (own site/What's On, Headfirst Bristol, Gigseekr).
