The Night

The 'Front, the snug real-ale cellar bar on Custom House Quay in Falmouth, runs a long-standing open mic from 8:30pm on Thursday evenings — and it's an anything-goes affair, welcoming music, poetry, comedy or whatever takes your fancy. There's a dedicated 'Open Mic at The 'Front' community behind it that still posts each week, and on Tuesdays the pub also runs 'Songwriters' Tunesday' for original material only. Free to play, friendly crowd, classic Cornish ale-house setting.

About The Front

The Front is a characterful waterfront cellar bar on Custom House Quay in Falmouth — an arched, brick-ceilinged room with old wooden cask sections, picturesque views over Falmouth Harbour and up to ten-plus Cornish real ales and ciders on tap. It was crowned CAMRA's Cornwall Pub of the Year 2023. The Front doesn't do food (you're welcome to bring your own) but it does do music: live folk on Mondays and Wednesdays — Monday nights bring Breton folk music and dancing — plus open-mic nights, folk sessions, funk & soul nights and a Sunday quiz. A genuine grassroots folk and acoustic venue on the Falmouth waterfront.
