About This Open Mic
The Night
Temple of Art & Music (TAM) lives inside Mercato Metropolitano at Elephant & Castle, a buzzing street-food and music hub, and it runs a genuinely busy open-mic calendar. The flagship is TAM Open Mic Wednesday, hosted by guitarist Patrick Hinds, where every genre is welcome — jazz, rock, blues, spoken word and beyond — with free standard backline so you can just turn up and plug in. There's also a long-running Singers @ Sunday Spot, so check TAM's Eventbrite for which night suits you. Eclectic, vintage-meets-streetfood surroundings and a warm, performer-first crowd.
About Temple of Art & Music (TAM)
Temple of Art & Music (TAM) is a charitable live-music venue inside Mercato Metropolitano at Elephant & Castle (42 Newington Causeway, London SE1). More than a bar, it blends live music, digital art and nightlife, programming nightly jazz, blues and soul plus open mics, karaoke parties, blues jams and even resident AI-band performances — with a strict 'only authentic musicians, no cover bands' policy. Founded by Sieng Van Tran in memory of his brother Tam, every ticket, food and drink sale supports struggling and emerging artists. A house PA is provided. Note: Mercato Metropolitano is due to relocate from the Newington Causeway site in late 2026, so the exact address may change.
