After last year’s triumphant sold out return in their home town of Wolverhampton, Sandkings are back to reclaim their crown.
Following the release of three Anthologies on the renowned Revolver Records label, original members Glenn Dodd, David Brown and Terry Kirkbride are back and fronted by long-time friend and Sheffield’s own Vince Cocker for what is very much a case of unfinished business.
Contemporaries of other West Midlands bands such as The Wonder Stuff and Pop Will Eat Itself, Sandkings had success in the late 1980s and early 1990s after signing to London Records. With a number of brilliantly received singles and a debut album, they went on to tour with The Stone Roses and support other major bands of the day such as the Stuffies, Levellers and Jesus Jones as well as selling out
