Members of the Soothsayers and Youthsayers will join forces to deliver a workshop covering the fundamental aspects and musical ingredients that have fed into the legacy of Soothsayers and nurtured the community that has resulted from their long term commitment to youth music education. Participants will learn about groove, use of melody and improvisation using afrobeat, reggae and jazz as a basis for group playing, as well as utilising basic, but vital , musicianship techniques to create effective performances. We will showcase workshop participants in a short evening performance with the Youth/Soothsayers, so please be prepared to stay on for the evening performance - bring your friends, and family. Stay on site - we'll have food and drink and a nice area inside our wonderful marquee
