Yes. During our beta period, all features are completely free. Once we launch publicly, every plan includes a 14-day free trial so you can explore the full platform before committing.
No. Stripe is entirely optional. The Platform plan gives you everything you need to manage bookings — you handle payments your way (cash, bank transfer, whatever works). Stripe adds deposit collection, escrow, and automatic payouts when you're ready for it.
The 10% commission only applies when payments are processed through GigXchange via Stripe. It's deducted automatically when funds are released after a completed gig. If you handle payments outside the platform, there's no commission — just your monthly subscription.
The commission is taken from the total booking amount before funds are released. Both parties see the commission breakdown upfront when creating the booking, so there are no surprises.
You can enable or disable Stripe payments at any time. Your subscription stays the same — you're just choosing whether to use the platform's payment processing on a booking-by-booking basis.
Active bookings continue until completion, including any Stripe payments in progress. You can still message and fulfil existing commitments. You just won't be able to create new bookings or appear in search results.
