I built this because I've been there. I've played in multiple bands since 2009 and getting gigs was always the hardest part. It took years to build a network. Endless emails, chasing promoters, asking mates who knew someone who knew someone. Even when you were good enough, actually getting in front of the right people felt impossible.
I kept thinking, why isn't there just a place where musicians and venues can find each other? No gatekeepers. No middlemen taking a cut before you've even played a note. Just a straightforward way to connect and book gigs.
So I built it. GigXchange is that place. It's still early days and the version you see today won't look the same in a few months. But the bones are here. Search, book, message, get paid. All in one place.
